The Ukrainian Institute told what the program Ukrainian Pavilion at the 59th international art exhibition Venice Biennale will be.
The program will be called “Decolonizing Art: Beyond the Obvious.” It is an interdisciplinary program that engages artists, curators, public intellectuals, researchers and the general public.
The curators aim to present and spread understanding of imperial narratives about Ukraine imposed by Russia through cultural practices and connections. By exposing the hidden goals of Russian propaganda in culture, the Ukrainian Institute aims to strengthen Ukrainian agency and increase the visibility of Ukrainian art, which is still often overlooked.
