Ukraine at Burning Man 2022: a huge trident and ethnic music

The legendary Burning Man festival in the Black Rock Desert (Nevada, USA) ended a few days ago. Ukraine also visited Burning Man bringing installations, Ukrainian flags, and music. 

This year’s Burning Man installations included:

The Lithuanian-American Camp Amber Dust created an installation with a trident to show support for Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and democratic values.

​​Traditionally, the culminating event is the burning of a large wooden effigy on the last day of the festival. This year, the main event took place to the music of the Ukrainian ethno-chaos band Dakha Brakha.

Alina Pash also visited Burning Man, both as a guest and a participant.

*“Burning Man” is an annual eight-day independent art event in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada, USA. It begins on the last Monday of August at exactly 00:01. The last day falls on Labor Day, an official holiday celebrated in the US on the first Monday of September, a day off for most organizations. The climax takes place on Saturday after sunset when a huge wooden statue of a man is burned. Each year a new theme of the festival is selected.
